Head & Heart – Brain Yoga Session details
Joined the course after watching on Shark Tank
- Session 1 –
Warm Up
1. Breathing – Sit straight with hands on lap. Inhale with your nose. As you inhale take your hands up to the level where inflation comes. Hold and exhale.
2. Brain Button – Touch Collar Bone with your hands in L Shape clock wise and belly button anti clockwise and vice versa
3. Thinking Cap – Rub ear lobes from top to bottom
Exercises
1. Sidewise Wrist Open and Close
a. Hands in front of face. Wrists closed.
b. Open one wrist with thumb closed and point to another. Repeat with next hand.
✊✊ || ✊ 🤙 || 🤙 ✊
2. Pinky finger and thumb
a. Open pinky finger of one hand and thumb of another.
b. repeat this with alternating hands
3. Shooting & Victory
a. Make victory sign with one hand and shooting with next hand
b. repeat this with alternating hands
✌️👈 || 👉✌️
4. Tapping and Rotation
a. Keep gently tapping your head with one hand and rotate your other hand in clockwise direction for 5 times and 5 times in anti clockwise.
b. Change your hand and repeat the same.
Session 2
5. Mouth piece and Fist
a. Just like a telephone pickup action with one hand and fist with another.
b. repeat the same by changing the hands.
6. Alternating fingers / spider walk
a. Keep index finger of hand and place index finger of next hand over it.
b. place the next finger on the index finger of next hand and similar with other hand.
c. now remove one finger and place it over the stack. -> forward movement
d. Above steps need to be repeated. Repeat the same in backward direction.
7. Counting with hands – Needs to be with both hands
a. 1 -> pinky finger
b. 2 -> middle two fingers, wrists closed.
c. 3 -> Yo 🤘 (keep thumb out)
d. 4 -> flower ( all fingers expect pinky finger closed)
8. Alternating hand rotation
a. Move one hand clockwise direction.
b. Move another hand anti clockwise direction.
Think as if you rotating two wheels in different directions.
Session 3
9. Hand on Chest and Stop sign
a. Place one hand on chest and other in front of you as a stop sign
b. repeat the same by changing the hands.
Feels like karate
10. Hold your ears and nose, clap
a. Take your one hand and hold your nose.
b. Take other hand over the first hand and hold the ear of opposite direction.
c. clap with both hands
d. Above steps need to be repeated with change of hands.
11. Victory and Fantastic
a. Make victory with one hand ✌️
b. Make Fantastic with other 👌
c. Repeat the same by changing hands
Session 4
12. Square & Circle
a. Draw Square with one hand in air, simultaneously draw circle with another
b. repeat the same by changing the hands.
13. Infinity & Circle
a. Draw Infinity symbol with one hand in air, simultaneously draw circle with another
b. repeat the same by changing the hands.
14. Z & 3
a. Draw Z symbol with one hand in air, simultaneously draw 3 with another
b. repeat the same by changing the hands.
Session 5
15. Directions – Up & Down , Forward and Backward
a. One hand with closed wrists to move up and down -> like pulling a chain.
b. Other hand with wrist open to move forward and backward -> like a Hitler salute (though needs to be kept straight and open hand side downwards)
c. repeat the same by changing the hands.
16. Finger Circling
a. Join the fingers of the wrists together and open it.
b. Start with thumb rotating around each other in clockwise and then anticlockwise direction
b. repeat the same with other fingers.
17. Shooting and Counting
a. Shoot with firsthand and make index finger of the other hand.
b. Shoot with second hand and Victory sign on first hand.
c. Shoot with first hand and 3 fingers on second hand.
d. Shoot with second hand and 4 fingers on first hand.
e. Shoot with first hand and 5 fingers on second hand.
f. Repeat with hands changed.
Session 6 – Table exercises – Relaxation
18. Open, Closed, bang table
a. Keep both hands on the table with wrists open and facing each other.
b. Close the wrists of both hands.
c. Keep the hands down on the table.
d. Repeat
19. Play Tabla
a. Keep both hands on the table resting. A gap of 2 fingers between them.
b. Close(Make wrist) one hand and keep the other one as it is.
b. Open the first hand and close the second
20. Dancing Fingers
a. Keep the index finger and middle finger of both the table.
b. Move the index finger of left hand and middle finger of right hand to the left.
c. Move them back to their original position.
d. Move the index finger of right hand and middle finger of left hand to the right.
e. Repeat
