I am Tarang Wadhwani, a tricenarian and own a construction firm in Indore. Until 2015, I was underweight and wanted to gain therefore I decided to hit the gym. This is where I met people from all walks of life who were so keen about fitness and developed an interest in running.
In order to increase my stamina, I started focusing more on cardio. As days passed by, I enrolled for Indore Marathon and started preparing for my first half marathon and for this I had to forsake all the junk food besides the most difficult job of getting up early morning. A rigorous training under the guidance of Ath. Manish Gaud for more than 2 months along with Indore Marathoners Group helped me achieve my accord at just a little over 2 hours.
This was a great confidence booster so I wanted to carry it forward. However, post this feat, I started losing focus on my fitness regime and was getting back to my old habits. This is where I decided to take HDOR challenge to aim to change not for a day but alter my lifestyle! I took a pledge to set things right for the next 100 days and started on the morning of 26th April 2018. Little did I know that I would need to face harsh climatic conditions, brave the monsoons and endure the perennial common cold and throat injections.
I decided to run x kms every day, I made it a point to not give an excuse come what may and so I didn’t break the routine even while I was on vacation too! It was a a very challenging task to manage work in the months of May and June which happens to be the peak season for all construction related activities in order to meet deadlines before the advent of the monsoons. Nonetheless, July was very demanding too, when I had to do multiple trips to Ahmadabad, Mumbai and Mathura. The most noticeable Mathura Trip
|26 – 07 – 2018 : 11 PM||Mathura||21.3 Km|
|27 – 07 – 2018 : 10 AM||Mathura||11 Km|
|28 – 07 – 2018 : 9 PM||Indore||10 Km|
Not to forget, the dreadful night, when I bore the pain of the dog bites on both the legs. This goes on without saying that it was not just a physical challenge but a mental and emotional one as well. I have finally managed to complete the target on 5th August 2018 and won against all odds thereby completing a total of x*100 in 100 days.

Things have changed in my life, the challenge has instilled discipline in me ( the long pending wish of my parents to see me up early morning is now a reality 🙂 ). I was happy that I could inspire some of my family members to participate in the marathons too. My primary aim to gain weight was achieved but I didn’t stop there. Running is now my passion and I continue to aim higher, hopefully, a full marathon soon.
